Enhancing Flexibility Through Robotic Milling
One of the reasons Robotic Milling has become a perfect option for many of our customers is its flexibility. This flexibility comes into play during the selection process; we can configure a system to perfectly address our customers’ goals, adding additional tool garages, probing capabilities, hotwire harps, etc.
But this flexibility can also come into play long after the initial purchase. Here’s a great example:
Our customer initially purchased their system to carve various stone figures. At the time of purchase, all of the figures they were carving were well under the standard 2,000lb capacity of our rotary tables. However, they recently landed a large contract carving very large stone figures that exceeded this weight capacity.
They approached us initially to get pricing on a new system. While we’d love to sell a new system, we addressed their objectives by designing and building a rotary table with a 25,000lb capacity. We’ve already swapped out the tables and trained their staff on the differences. They’re already off to the races!
